I have plenty of respect for Pete Carroll. You think we complain about our schedule, what with the Marshalls and the Bowling Greens of the world pulling us down. What about USC? They didn't run from anybody in making this year's non-conf. schedule: Auburn (preseason top 5 team), Notre Dame (top 10 team most of the year last year). It's not their fault their conference sucks this year. I have alot of respect for their team and would truly hate to see either an 11-1 USC or a 12-1 LSU team miss out on going to New Orleans. That's why they need to make it easy on everyone and get upset this weekend by UCLA
You're right, DD, though you have to admit sometimes the team that wins the conference---Oregon, Oregon St., USC to name three in recent years---perform quite well in bowl games.
I think SC plays well, but they couldn't handle the SEC schedule. The Pac-10 teams get the best break of all in college football, a complete BCS conferene that refuses to play defense. All the PAC-10 teams, with SC being the only exception, trys to outscore everyone. I don't think you can compare LSU and SC, b/c we truely do play a harder conference schedule. But I look at SC like TCU, they can only play the schedule handed to them and they are winning those games. There is no disrepect there, they are getting the job done. But there is no doubt in my mind that the SEC is the better conference top to bottom.
