I dont care how we do it but Skylar Green must get the ball in his hands as much as possible. That defense didnt know what hit them on that reverse to him. He looks all healed and reminds me of Josh Reed. Unstoppable. Lets get the ball to him and hold on.
Re: Skylar Green Needs the ball in his hands That's how I feel about Doucet. We all saw his high school footage and I remember watching him after the catch last season. The guy is amazing.
Re: Skylar Green Needs the ball in his hands Skyler should get at least 10 touches a game... reverses, screens (i like the middle screen where the reciever runs across the middle behind the line and the linemen release downfield in form of him), and quick hits.
Re: Skylar Green Needs the ball in his hands Doucet needs to be more consistant before I rave about him as one of college football's best. Right now, simply put, he's nothing more than a player with "exceptional potential" and until he proves himself (by becoming more consistant and cutting down on his drops), then those highlights films of him in high school are nothing more than high school memories. Just like the NFL. Just because you were a stud player in college, doesn't automatically make you one at the next level. Early has all the tools to be the gamebreaker he was in high school, but like I said, he's not there yet and doesn't deserve to be compaired to All-American receivers like Josh Reed or Skyler Green. Green was in Early's position a couple of years ago. He had trouble dropping passes (remember the majority of the game vs UGA in Tiger Stadium--before making up for it all by catching the game winner??? Sound familiar?). Now, if Early corrects himself like Green did, then Early will become one of college football's best receivers....but the fact now is that he's frankly no where near that. He just as the potential right now....not the status.
Re: Skylar Green Needs the ball in his hands I was referring particularly to Doucet's skills after the catch. Plus, Skyler isn't anywhere near the level receiver that Reed was. Skyler is more of a great return man and a slightly above average receiver.
Re: Skylar Green Needs the ball in his hands If Green had more touches I would have done better in TFL. Use More Green
Re: Skylar Green Needs the ball in his hands He had 3 catches on our last drive, including the big one. Now, this doesn't necessarily jolt him into the upper echelon of SEC recievers. But perhaps it is a sign of things to come. He came up huge in the closing minutes of a HUGE game. Hopefully, he matured from that experience.
Re: Skylar Green Needs the ball in his hands If they will use Skyler the same way they did Josh Reed then i think you will see he is comparable. Right now there are just too many options for the ball. Skyler Green is healthy for the first time in a while and if they will get him the ball i think we will see some amazing things out of him. That is not to say LSU doesnt have some other talented receivers but when i watched that reverse you could see that this guy can make things happen. Hit him on some quick hitters or bubble screens and get out of the way.
Re: Skylar Green Needs the ball in his hands green is up there with bush and ginn as the best playmakers in the country. I think going into the game we should have a plan to get him the ball atleast 8-10 touches a game. Whether it be a reverse, screen whatever just get him the ball.
