Pleasant surprise this morning. While reading the Miami Herald, there is old man Skip's picture receiving recognition on his baseball coaching career. I must tell you, RB's Baseball World is where-future-baseball-stars-are-made playground! Great place to see these kids play. Don't know if this was mentioned back home where I belong. ''I thought it was fantastic because it was seeing the history of baseball, to see people who shaped the lives of young kids,'' Kendall resident Jose Cordo said. His son Adrian, 6, held a baseball signed by Bertman. The field is one of six at Red Berry's Baseball World at 7455 SW 125th Ave. Among the other fields are ones named for former Marlins manager Jack McKeon and former University of Miami baseball coach Ron Fraser. ''Skip's the greatest baseball coach I ever met at any level and a dear friend of mine,'' owner Red Berry said. Berry has known Bertman for about 45 years. :tigbas: http://www.miamiherald.com/493/story/77715.html
