On March 5, 2009 Congressman John Murtha was awarded the Department of the Navy Distinguished Public Service Award by the Secretary of the Navy, Donald C. Winter. From the press release: It is the highest form of public service recognition bestowed by the Department of the Navy for a non-employee. I think this shows how ****ed up the world we live in today. The Democrats can do no wrong today or during the Bush administration. They are in control of everything and their views are brainwashed into people's heads. I say this last sentence above because its obvious that they can call the military killers and it goes unchallenged. Not only that but the idiot Murtha gets this award above, its like he never said what he did about the marines. I'll sign this petition but its a total waste of time!
Murtha gets the medal because he holds the checkbook, and with the expected cuts in Military spending on the horizon, the Navy felt it wise to get down on its knees in front of him. It makes perfect sense from a Naval Administration perspective, but not quite a great PR move for anyone who is remotely familiar with the whole Haditha debacle. I hope this doesn't hurt recruiting.
