Shryone Carey has gotten lost in the new rotation at TB with the emergence of Vincent and Broussard, and even Edwards, but I have always felt that LSU may be misusing him anyway.

He is best in a broken or open field where he can use his quickness and moves to make big plays. He is short but I think he still may be more effective catching bubble screens and short passes on the edge of a defense.

If the Tigers could work him into the mix there, it would give LSU another playmaker on the outside. It could be a surprise Oklahoma is not ready for if they pay too much attention to Green, Henderson, and Clayton.

I just don't see what Shy brings to the table right now. Addai has morphed into essentially a 3rd down back, Vincent the go-to guy and Broussard into the big short yardage hammer-type of back.

Where does Shy fit in? He's probably the most like Vincent out of all the RBs but he's, frankly, not as good.

I think Shy is "gun-shy". Ever since he hurt himself he seems to not run and cut like he used to. Coach Saban needs to talk to him and tell him his is still a valuable asset to the Tiger team.

I think Saban should move him back to WR, and go to a 5 receiver
spread. Just another wrinkle nobody would have seen us use.

Carey left the field limping after two carries in the Arkansas game. he may have aggravated the knee injury. When he was healthy he was amazing.

In spring practice he may take his job back. But they need to let him stay out and get healthy.

    shy was tried at receiver

He was tried at receiver last year,,,but just couldn't catch the ball. He is a great running back and punt returner, but since he got hurt, others have gotten better.

Example - it's gonna be hard for him to get into the mix especially since Justin Vincent, Alley Broussard, and Joseph Addai are playing so well. And it will be hard for him to get back into the mix at returning punts since Skylar is doing so well.

Let's just hope he doesn't get down and want to transfer. I still think he is valuable even though he isn't playing much.

How can we judge Shy? How many carries has he had since the injury? Just like when there were some saying Addai wasn't any good after his injury. I think Shy's too short for WR but unfortunately (for him) there are RB's ahead of him that have earned the right to keep getting carries.

He looked good as a punt returner but Skyler has been better. He was good as a RB but Vincent is better. It's a good problem to have. Someone may transfer in the off-season and it may be Shyrone but we can worry about that later. I feel confident with him in the game if we need him. I wouldn't be suprised to see Carey get a couple of touches in space to see what he can do.

I agree he is a great athelete. If we are to full at RB, do what they did with Josh Reed and Devery. Split them out...

Sure is a nice problem to have.

They say it is easier to find 4 good receivers than it is to find 4 good cover DBs. Many coaches have made a living proving that year after year.

I would assume it is harder to find 5 good DBs. :)

Depth at RB is vital. We lost two of them to injuries this year. Grades will take another one, history tells us. Five running backs is not too deep.
