    The No. 20 LSU Tigers (26-7) received the lowest NCAA seed ever for a Southeastern Conference outright champion. Tennessee received a No. 9 seed in 1982 as a co-champion. Florida and Georgia each received No. 7 seeds in 1989 and 1990, respectively, as outright champions.
