It is not a final six, but LSU narrowed its first batch of athletic director candidates from 16 to six on Friday during a search committee meeting. The six top applicants so far are San Jose State athletic director Thomas Bowen, Florida associate athletic director Greg McGarity, former Indiana athletic director Michael McNeely, LSU associate athletic director Verge Ausberry, Liberty University athletic director Jeff Barber and Stan Harris, a CEO of Forefront Group Inc. of Springfield, Tenn.
