Middle linebacker Jacob Cutrera is one of several true freshmen expected to play Saturday night when the Tigers open the season against Louisiana-Lafayette. Cutrera, who graduated from Acadiana High in Lafayette in December and enrolled at LSU in January, went through spring drills and is listed as the second-team middle linebacker behind junior Luke Sanders of West Monroe. "I think Jacob Cutrera is going to be a really fine linebacker," LSU coach Les Miles said. "The idea that he went through spring gives him a chance to understand and be very comfortable with what we call and where to line up. I think Luke Sanders is a little bit better player and certainly more experienced, but I wouldn't be unhappy in any way to see Jacob go out there and play for the Tigers on Saturday night."
