There was precedent for this sort of thing. In the first of the three 62-0 victories over Tulane for LSU in 1958, the Tigers led only 6-0 at halftime. In the regular-season finale in 1962, LSU trailed an 0-9 Tulane team 3-0 at halftime, but went on to win 38-3.
