Should we now silently root for Auburn?

OK, this is a hard thread to type, but I feel it bears discussion. With yesterdays win, Auburn wrapped up the SEC West. They are also the SEC's best chance at participating in the BCS MNC.

Here are the pros of now silently rooting for Auburn:

    1. Fellow SEC school
    2. divisional opponent of LSU
    3. we played them tight this year (questionable if they deserved the win, but sh!t happens)
    4. do you really want USC and Oklahoma in that game this year?
    5. Utah is not deserving, and Wisconson is in a weak conference
    6. the SEC's next best option is Georgia or Tennessee (each with a loss)

    And the Cons:

    1. we are trained from birth to hate Auburn
    2. CTT

I think the evidence is overwhelming that we should silently support Auburn in their quest for the BCS MNC now that LSU is out of it.

    Any ideas?????

Sorry but I can't support a Tubby coached team unless they some how make it to the Championship game and then I will very relunctantly support them. Way too much bad blood between them and the real Tigers in recent years.

I am rooting for Auburn 1000% the rest of the way. I hate Tommy Tele-Tubby, but I love the SEC even more. I want to see the SEC win the NC every year. The only reason we don't is because we knock ourselves out of contention.

Except for the fact that I'd hate to see Tubby happy I have to agree that Auburn has the best shot at the BCS NC game. Do we really want to hear all of the wags talking about how USC and OU is the matchup they wanted to see last year?
Although I cannot envision a circumstance that would make it happen, my fondest wish is for USC to win the Orange bowl and have to "share" the Championship with some other team.

I don't care for Auburn...Never have, and never will. Their fans-a small minority-are decent folk.

But, I'd assume cheer for Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, South Carolina, Kentucky, Vanderbilt, Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi State, and even The vile University of Mississippi before I cheered for Auburn in anything other than perhaps baseball.

Their football fans are the worst kind of ridiculous. We pounded Georgia, South Carolina, and Auburn last year, amongst many others...Yet who were the only ones on "their site" that continually denigrated us and even cheered openly for our opponents?

Who widely supported USC fans last year while we marched to the title and arrogantly talked down THEIR own SEC in favor of the Trojans? It was Auburn...

To hell with them...and to hell with their coach....and the only thing that's worse than this season's development with them is that Bobby Lowder was neutralized to a certain extent in the Football Program. That's the worst development that could have taken place there.

For Lowder to have the egg on his face and have "his people" take the fall for it, and then watch as the man he wanted to stake to the cross go undefeated and make a run for a national title, then that means that his meddling may be on the decline...and that means they might return to a non fuedal lord system, which might help them focus more...It doesn't matter as Alabama will return to glory eventually, and they'll both keep each other down...but Auburn's fans last year remind me of a Celtics fan who rejoiced when Magic Johnson announced he had AIDS.

Sorry, but I ain't no Auburn fan...EVER...Unless they're going to do something by winning or losing to help us...Then I'll root for them to either win or lose, depending on which outcome will help LSU. If it neither helps nor harms, I hope they lose, always.

    DO NOT PULL FOR BAWBARN!!!

If you even remotely pull for Auburn, this board wouldn't be half as much fun. :thumb:
