I am one of the biggest proponents of a capitalist economy you will find, but I say phuck no to paying this guy. That's our taxpayer money and on top of that his speculation in the oil market may have contributed to us paying $4 a gallon last summer and he is a Brit! Go back to your phucking country you crooked tooth bastid. 100-million-payday-poses-problem-for-pay-czar.html: Personal Finance News from Yahoo! Finance
I don't like it either, but if is a contractual obligation there may not be any choice. A touchy issue certainly.
Pay the man. We can't help it that the Govt. is a bunch of morons and gave Citigroup monies rather than watch it liquidate it's bad debt.
It will be curious to see what they do. It's a dangerous precedent to set by letting the government come in and nullify private contracts. There certainly will be a lawsuit if it does. What you have to remember, is that this guy made citigroup billions of dollars. He wasn't part of the crap that they got their clocks cleaned on.
Same thing applied to those AIG guys and that line of reasoning didn't hold water and they didn't get their bonuses.
Yeah I know. This guy is new though. He wasn't involved in that was he. Either way, I don't think he'll give Mr. Hall $100 million
of course he should be paid. i dont see how there is any question. also, higher oil prices are not bad, especially if you care about the environment. it stuns me that we are asking this question. the question should never be asked. we shouldnt be bailing out anyone, obviously.
Let him knock it down and watch this case go all the way to the Supreme Court I bet. Messing with private contracts is not good for the Govt.
