Let me start by saying that I think we recieved an excellent recruit R.J. Jackson. This kid is a great athlete that could play on either side of the ball. BUT! I think Brandon Lafell is going to be a STEAL!! I watched his videos on Rivals. com and this guy is really athletic and quick. He has great hands and agility. I predict he will become a good reciever at L.S.U. and hopefully a target for RP. If you get a chance watch this guy he is pretty impressive. This sure lifted me out of recruiting blues. I will be anxiously watching fox tonight at 10:00 because Bennett will be announcing his commitment!
Lafell is a steal, if Rivals had gotten his videos a few weeks ago he would've been a 4 star recruit. He has an awesome ability to go up and get the ball, he could be a big time red zone target in his freshman year, he has that kind of size and skill. He hasn't even been able to completely acheive his potential yet either, he only played varsity his last two years, he reminds me of Dwayne Bowe coming out of HS.
I thought the same thing when I watched his video's too! After watching it, I was STUNNED that he was ONLY the #32 ranked WR! He made, to put it lightly, some UNBELIEVABLE catches/moves. In fact, not to take anything away from Slick Shelley (I hope he commits to LSU as well), but I think LaFell's highlight video's looked more impressive. Of course, a lot of that has to do with the QB play. And LaFell definately benefited from a QB that could throw the ball deep--Shelley pretty much had to take a 10-15 yard completion and turn upfield and make most of it on his own.
Would be a very nice addition! Guy looks as mean as a Tiger! So, with the 20 scholarships available, and 16 figuring to go out to high school recruits currently we've got: 1. CB Sammy Joseph *transfer-Colorado* 2. DL Chase Pittman *transfer-Texas* 3. RB Trindan Holliday ? 4. SNP Zimmerman *current Tiger* 5. DT Jerrell Powe ***** (still says he plans on committing...I'll believe it when I see it 6. LB Darry Beckwith **** 7. RB Antonio Robinson **** 8. RB RJ Jackson **** 9. DB Chris Hawkins **** 10. DE Al Jones **** 11. FB Steve Korte **** 12. OL Ciron Black *** 13. WR Brandon LaFell *** (should be at the minimum 4-stars) 14. TE Kyle Anderson *** 15. DT Lyle Hitt *** 16. WR Slick Shelley ??? 17. DE Ricky Jean-Francois ??? 18. TE Bennett ????? 19. QB Ryan Perrilloux ????? 20. ??????? I'd say that THAT'S quite a recruiting class! Hope it ends up working out the way I outlined here (16-19)
You hit it right on the head with Lafell being a steal, if he's the 31st ranked WR I would love to see the film on the 30 WRs ranked ahead of him. He is a good one and should be at least a 4 star. :thumb:
Close, but Triston (not Trindon) Holliday will count for next year, not this year, and Harry Coleman and Max Holmes are grey shirts from last year that will count in this years class. I am not sure about Zimmerman. Other than that your list seems about right (except that Bennet and Shelley have commited else where since you wrote it. Antonio Coleman, currently an Auburn commit, is also a possibility to close out the class.)
