As I said in an earlier post, what do you think they would do if the situation was reversed? That's right, either shoot us in the back of the head execution style or cut off our heads. They will show no mercy whatsoever, why should we show them any mercy? I'm glad to see that the Marines are rallying around their comrade. That's what esprit de corps is all about, my friends. If I was in his shoes I would have done the same thing.

Why are you guys making this such a big deal? The soldier was shot in the face the day before. Insanity will get him out of this one..........

I would have shot everything that moved as well if I was shot the face less than 24 hours before this incident happened.

umm, they aren't making it the big deal. its been all over AP and National News all last night and will continue to made a story by the gay ass liberal media. The larger the scope of this the more pressure to wrongfully punish a soldier. they pulled these guys off the front line in the heat of combat. I cannot even imagine that happening.

Pressure? Are you saying that our military leaders are influenced by the media?

I don't think so....... If that was the case, we would not be in Iraq.

thats the entire reason for the Abul<sp> Prison crap. The government is influenced thinking that pacifying the so-called non-militant factions of the muslim community like it actually matters. To appease and show we aren't there to occupy and to show we would never ever hurt a gd muslim even in wartime unless fully engaged. i

    nevermind.

relax buddy..... Get away from that computer every once in a while. It's not good for you to sit in front of that machine all day/night long.

Come drink a few with us at the Daq cafe on Lee.....

I'm not making a big deal about this, but it just pains me to see a Marine in danger of repercussions because he was protecting himself. With the way things are going over there, i.e. dead bodies being booby-trapped, insurgents faking death to draw Marines in and shoot at them, you can't blame our guys for wanting to protect themselves. I don't think some people see that (I'm not at all saying you are one of those people, Crawfish). Hopefully that Marine will be able to return to his unit on the front lines.

There was no outrage when the same insurgents hooded innocent civilians (most recently… a lady who worked for 30 years in Iraq as a charity volunteer) and then decapitated them on TV.

The media has given much more air time to Abu Grab (where prisoners were made to get naked and get their little peckers hard) and this shooting of an insurgent who less than 24 hours earlier was hiding in a mosque shooting at our troops, than the 4 civilian contractors hung on bridge, the video decapitation of civilians or the multitude of assignations of their own who are trying to help raise the standard of life there.

Why does the media think the “atrocities” committed by American servicemen/women are doubly more important than the raping, pilfering and murder of cilvilians. **** the mainstream media for not utilizing common sense.

The military needs to get all the inbedded reporters the hell out, and go back to having daily briefings.
If that reporter had not been there, this would never have been a story.
If that had been my son making that decision, I hope he would have made the same one.
I would rather he be tried by 3, than carried by 6.
