Share of NC in 1958

According to this link, LSU won a "share" of the national title in 1958. My point is: No one remembers who the "other #1" was in 1958 (Iowa), and no one will remember the other team in 2004 (after LSU beats OU).

Iowa was the other team in 1958, but they did not really win a share of the title. LSU finished first in both the polls. Iowa was first in one of the many power ranking systems. LSU has finished first in one or more of these systems five times. The most recent was in 1962. We only claim our 1958 title because it the only one recognized by the majority.

If you have ever been in Vaught Hemmingway stadium you will see Ole Miss claims three. The Rebels however are the only people who recognize this.
