Make your bold statements here!.... I know I shall first. I took out the SEC teams' schedules chart... printed it, and predicted each game... Here's my results... They are harsh... and LSU is with my purple shades on...:thumb: West: 1. LSU! - 11-0 (8-0) (Hey... someone's gotta make the bold move first right?)... heh.... 2. Auburn - 8-3 (6-2) 3. Arkansas - 7-4 (5-3) I predict an Arkansas upset over Bama.... along with Ws for Ole Miss, MSU, USC, and Vandy 4. Alabama - 6-5 (3-5) Hard fall for Bama with such high hopes.. Lose the Iron Bowl 5. Mississippi State - 5-6(2-6) Just misses a bowl... winner of the Egg Bowl.. 6. Ole Miss - 2-9 (0-8) Sorry col reb.... I just don't see this as the Rebs year...I think Kentucky will be a little better than people think. East: 1. Tennessee - 10-1 (7-1) They sneak by Georgia with the tiebreaking win over them... 2. Georgia - 10-1 (7-1) Just miss out on the SECCG... Great year still... 3. Florida - 7-4 (5-3) Not buying the Meyer hype... Losses to LSU, UGA, Tenn, and FSU... 4. South Carolina - 5-6 (2-6) I think this is possible bowl year if they can win over Arkansas. They take Clemson this year though... 5. Kentucky - 4-7 (2-6) - USC wins the head-to-head... tough OOC schedule, but I think they can come out of Indiana with a W... 6. Vanderbilt - 4-7 (1-7) - These bottom teams are hard to predict... I have been VERY kind with OOC games with them... 4-1 start... bad finish... SECCG: LSU over Tennessee
Man, is it early... 4 a.m. I've got to drive up to Atlanta and pick up some Norwegian elves at the airport. I'm still mad at them for trying to serve me "Bambi" on my last trip over there. (Actually, I don't think it was Bambi. When they first told me it was reindeer meat, it felt like either Dancer or Prancer in my stomach. Later I realized it was just Blitzen.) Anyway, Berge... if your predictions come true, the SEC will be the first conference to lose more games than they win in conference play, which can't happen. If my math is right (remember, it is early) you have the west going 24-24 and the east going 22-26... that's 46-50 as a conference. With 12 teams, you'll always finish 48-48 (now that ties are pretty much a thing of the past). So you have two more wins to give and two more losses to tack on somebody. Btw, the 50% wins and 50% losses within conference play creates interesting math in any conference. For example, when you distribute the 7 or 8 wins to the top teams, it makes it mathematically impossible for the "Ole Miss or Bama folks" to carve out anything other than "average" seasons. Skoal, baby.
East 1) UGa 2) UT 3) St. Urban and Boy Choir 4) South Carolina 5) Vandy 6) UK West 1) LSU 2) Auburn 3) Arkansas 4) Alabama 5) Ole Miss 6) MSU
West 1) LSU 2) Alabama 3) Auburn 4) Arkansas 5) Ole Miss 6) Miss State East 1) Tennessee 2) Florida 3) Georgia 4) South Carolina 5) Vandy 6) Kentucky
East: UF--totally buying the Meyer hype UT--another solid year SC--he's here........... UGA--originally had them in the drivers seat but too many off field problems and injured players UK--who cares Vandy--who cares West: LSU--too much talent even though new coaching staff Bama--could be a good year or another mediocre one AU--another good year but lots of heavy weights no longer there Arky--new DC improves Hogs MSU--getting better Ole Miss--lots of changes, like Bama they could surprise but likely won't this year
Alabama has a freshman O-Line and are still lacking depth. They'll finish no better than third in the west.
I'm not sure what Houston Nutt has to do in order to gain some respect. He's been the title game with less talent than Ole Miss. When Arkansas left the SWC, so went a great deal of their recruiting base. I think he is everything St. Urban is cracked up to be, the 2nd best coach in the SEC behind Les Miles.
There was a typo when I wrote them out... I had Florida going 7-4 overall and 3-5 in the SEC... that was supposed to be 5-3 in the SEC, which fixes your problem with it....
How can someone predict USC to be ahead of UGA? UGA had a lot of problems? Did you even look to see about USC's 15+ suspensions, kickoffs, and other things? USC will be lucky to win 6 games. Not sure why people even fathom putting them near UT, UF, or UGA
