Granted, there were not a whole lot of "marquee" matchups (with the exception of Auburn/GT), but at least we began the season with a pretty good start. At least we didn't have a top 10 team lose to a run-of-the-mill mid-major (Big XII/Oklahoma :hihi: ). Or have a "not-long-ago-decent" team lose to a below-ave-service-acadamey (Pac 10/Washington). Only Auburn's loss to a pretty good GT team (I think GT is a ledgit top 25 team) is the SEC's only black eye. Good to see Vandy beat beat a fellow "bottom feeder" from another major conference (but beating Wake should almost be considered an upset, IMO). #13 Georgia brought #18 Boise State back down to earth a bit. Mississippi State didn't look lost like they did vs I-AA Maine last year. Arkansas beats up on I-AA Missouri State (formerly SW Missou State)--but at least they didn't win a close one.... Forida looked pretty good as did South Carolina in their wins (albeit I thought the Gamecocks kind of sputtered as the game went on)
I think Tennessee looked horrible...based solely on the score, of course. Oh, to have them undefeated when Sept 24 rolls around...C'mon, Phat Phil, keep it together for another 3 weeks!
