SEC games on CBS to be moved up next year to NOON?? Man, I hate this news, assuming it's true: (4th paragraph down on this page: http://www.collegefootballnews.com/2003/Columnists/MR/DeepPost.htm)
I would rather be on ESPN or TBS in Primetime. I wish one of them had the SEC contract. I think its sad that CBS doesn't have a primetime game. College football is big business but I guess not big enough for CBS to alter a one night schedule. I'm getting to think I don't care for CBS, I don't watch thier stupid Prime time shows anyway. So, Maybe they would gain some ratings if they had a primetime game. ABC has primetime game MNF, so why not start a new tradition? A college football game on CBS on Primetime Saturday?
I may be in the minority here, but I don't mind the CBS coverage. What I would like to see, though, is for them to have doubleheader coverage. There are usually enough TV-worthy SEC games for them to do this, along with whatever ESPN picks up. ABC usually has dh's, although they cover multiple conferences.
Brett, are you the Seafood guy from Kenner that went to CHS in BTR? If you are you hooked me up with some killer crawfish last season.....via Scott Landry
Going the wrong way there TS03. Games currently start 3:30 Eastern. A 1pm Eastern puts us at Noon. Talk about some crap. Its bad enough having to get out by 7 am for a 2:30 game. Now go and move it up again. Yuck.
I'd be surprised if the SEC let CBS go to noon kickoffs. That would defeat the purpose of the current system, which has the JP kickoff at 11:30 so the game is over or close to it by the time the CBS game starts. Why have two SEC games start within 30 minutes of each other and essentially go head to head?
