Sorry to steal your thunder Carface :hihi: :hihi: REST OF THE ARTICLE: http://www.lsureveille.com/vnews/display.v/ART/2005/04/28/42707bf52e9c4
This article would be pretty convincing if championships were won on offensive performance alone. But, as I recall, Leak and company were 8-5 last year and 8-5 the year before. And while Leak had impressive numbers, the Florida D didn't. Most of South Carolina's defense is gone due to graduation and used up eligibility. What wasn't mentioned was the 4 straight top ten recruiting classes pulled in by Tennessee and the 4 straight top ten recruiting classes pulled in by Georgia. That might have a little bit more to do with where the SEC East is going.
You know, this is a really good article. Agree or disagree with the opinion, it doesn't matter. It's unfortunate that the main Baton Rouge newspaper takes the same bland approach while student writers come up with a great, new take on the coming year(s). Like I said, agree or disagree, at least this article gives you something to think about and something different to throw around than a QB controversy.
I think LSU will remain a force in the SEC and I think we will see a re-emergence of Alabama football once again. And Auburns recruiting has been pretty darn good lately too!
Its too bad that the NCAA Football 2k5 formula isnt used on Tennessee.. all those arrests, they would surely go on probation.. heh
I don't understand all the hate being spewed on Shula, especially by Bama fans. The guy has made a few bad decisions but he was really dealt a bad hand. I think they jury should be out on him for at least another 2 seasons. His first year was like climbing a mountain with a refrigerator strapped to his back. Last year he losses all of his RB's and QB's. I'd have to say he hasn't really had a chance to show what kind of coach he is yet.
