I know there is no doubt in the minds of everyone who frequents this forum, but for the rest of the country, is there truly a better place for football than the SEC? Last weekend, a super young Arkansas team pushed a super loaded Texas team to the edge of the cliff. 2 weeks ago LSU claws its way to a thrilling OT win. South Carolina and UGA go ten rounds last weekend. Bottom line, the SEC continues to be where it’s at – I don’t care how many bandwagon reporters fall in love with the ACC in the coming years. Consider this: we are in week 3 of the season and College Gameday has been 1. To LSU v OSU 2. To S. Carolina v UGA 3. Auburn v LSU cancelled for Hurricane Ivan This is a good indication of where the best football is being played. Florida v Tennessee this weekend, Florida v UGA, UGA v LSU, S. Carolina v Florida, Auburn v Alabama, UGA v Auburn, Arkansas v LSU, etc… Does anyone really care about the other conferences at this point? The Big 12 is much softer than we thought and it’s too early to say anything about the Big 10. The ACC is certainly good and the Pac-10 is what it always is… Just rambling on – the SEC is once again proving to be the best conference in college football. Every year they say it’s not true, and by week 3 it’s undeniable IMO. The media will be SEC – Minded until every team has a loss and then they will shift their focus. As for now, they know what’s what…
It's why dropping strength-of-schedule from the BCS formula will hurt SEC teams in the National Championship race. There are 7 or 8 contenders beating up on each other every season in the SEC. Practically nobody goes undefeated in this league. LSU won the SEC with 3 losses once. The SEC commissioner has to get this rule changed.
