OK - so certainly the players shouldn't be looking past our next two games but the great thing about being a fan is that we can do exactly that. I've been looking ahead all season...

That said, assuming we take care of business and make it back to Atlanta, is anyone else worried about UGA with a healthy Shockley??? I am. It seems as though even the sports writers are all predicting a "sure" LSU victory should we make it there but UGA only has one more loss than we do.

Their offense has appeared more potent than ours throughout the year, (stats anyone?) and even though they've been variable, so have we!

Their only two losses are against Florida and Auburn, by a total of 5 points. Comparatively, we only beat those two teams by a combined 7...

Am I missing something here? I have faith in the Tigers and while I'm willing to take somewhat for granted that we can get to that game, it certainly doesn't seem like a "gimme."

    Thoughts? Prognostications?

I think LSU would be favored because of the defense. Georgia is playing well and are nobody's pushover, especially in Atlanta. Score comparisons mean absolutely nothing. I like our chances but would not go all "Ramah" about it.

Georgia has not been taken seriously all year. Shockley didn't play in the Florida game and the Auburn game could have easily gone either way.

But I'll have to reserve my final perspective for the week right before the game which will depend more on how healthy the two teams are at that point.

If I were to make a prediction today, I'd say LSU would be favored by 7 points.

The type of artificial turf on the field should slightly favor LSU.

GA will be favored in this game ... they scored 30 against Auburn in last week's loss with Shockley in a knee brace. He toasted AU's secondary for over 300 yards. How'd LSU's offense fare against Auburn? We scored 30 against Auburn, right (dripping with sarcasm)! Only a fool wouldn't be concerned in this game ... a toss up for LSU in a best case scenario ... with GA favored because of a lame LSU scoring offense. And, don't forget that UNGODLY SCORE ASS WHIPPING-13 GA put on LSU last year.

I'm not sure an LSU offense playing this poorly can take GA in Mylanta ...

My guess ... Georgia 27, LSU 20 ... my first predicted loss for LSU this year.

If the offense "WAKES THE **** UP" & seriously takes Ole Piss & Arky to the woodshed ... LIKE THEY SHOULD ... I reserve the right to change this prediction ... If LSU struggles offensively against Ole Miss & Arky but still manages to win ... as I expect they will ... then I predict GA wins the SECCG.

We match up quite well with Georgia. Both teams have strong lines on both sides of the ball. Georgia's got a great set of running backs with a solid QB & one hell of a TE they like to use. Our defense vs their offense will come down to how well Pellini gaurds against Pope (the TE) and of course, how well we execute.

I like our offense vs their defense. Our WRs have been looking good & I belive we have the advantage there over their DBs. If Addai is healthy, I think our Oline is strong enough to allow him to be effective, but he won't put up any huge numbers. If Vincent plays, I think we'll see some more passes to him & runs on the outside. Runs up the middle will mostly be to keep the defense honest, but won't get much yardage.

This will be another hard fought game.

Yes, of course. You want it both ways.

I have the perfect plan for such a game... or any game with LSU... we spot the team 14 points before the opening kickoff! then the coaches will actually open up the offense and the tigers will actually move the ball...

LSU would likely be favored by a fg because UGA will have the decided edge in fans in its homestate in basically a home game 65/35 UGA to LSU fans.

no no no, UGA will be there because they deserve it. i dont think anyone's overlooking them, especially no one within our conference. shockley looked great against AU but richt's defensive play calling on that last drive cost them. He disappoints in almost every big game imo. He let cox stand back there instead of bringing pressure on that 4th and 10 for the td. with that being said, LSU/UGA will be a tough matchup. coinflip if both teams play their best.
