With all the crap everyone has been through tonight, back and forth about the BCS, Nat'l Champs, etc. I'd like to just point out a couple of things. We are one game away from playing for the SEC Championship. That means a lot folks, and not "backing" into like we did against Tennessee last time. We've got a chance to cleary be the best team in arguably the toughest conference in major college football. I think every member of this site would have taken our current position at the beginning of the season and been happy as hell about it. That is one hell of an accomplishment by this staff and group of kids. There are a lot of top programs and players out there that would love to be in our spot. So congratulations to the entire football program in Baton Rouge, it's been the best football season for LSU I've ever seen and that's good enough for me. Secondly, how easy do some of you think it is to win a Nat'l Championship? Most fans have no idea how much talent and how many breaks, and I mean pure, LUCKY, breaks it takes to be able to do that. Have some respect for those that accomplish such a feat. It's a once in a lifetime accomplishment for most of those that do it. Lastly, spare me the crap about the coaching staff, please! You should thank God we have them. We are one bad ass QB from being able to earn a Nat'l Championship and we have one waiting in the wings. I happen to like the spot we are in right now....I wouldn't trade places with anybody in the SEC right now and the rest of the country can go to hell for all I care. Saban and co., you all good with me! :geaux:
Not really inconsistent...I mean, the guy leads the SEC in effeciency(before the game) and has only lost 2 games as a starter...I would describe Mauck as a guy that "is really on when is on" and "really off when he is off." Hope that makes sense..
it makes perfect sense and i totally agree.....by sayin inconsistent that is what i meant....he is spectacular when he is ready to play but he is equally terrible when he is "off".....
Re: Re: SEC Champions So what do you expect out of Mauck? Have you ever seen Joe Montana, Dan Marino, John Elway or Brett Fahve have a bad game? As bad as Mauck and the rest of the offense played today Mauck did come through with enough to put the winning points on the scoreboard.
On the contrary, I think Matt Mauck has been consistent (if you think about all his past performances) with a few off games. Again, the relative lack of offense performance seems to be more of an offensive team's phenomenon, not an individual's. I would dare those fair weather fans who accused Matt of being inconsistent to duplicate or surpass Matt's feat, if they think they are such good judges of players. ________ FREE SEX
I don't think its all Matts Fault, the playcalling and penalties hurt us at times........... Matt was running for his life sometimes today. He gets too much blame but he should know better than to throw 3 picks.
I think Matt Mauck is a hell of a QB... All the guy does is win.. He is smart, doesn't get rattled, and has a lot stronger arm than most people give him credit for. But his biggest asset his his leadership... He is a leader and sets nothing but a outstanding example for the younger players... He leads the SEC in pass eff. , Broke an impressive record today by tossing his 23rd TD pass on the season.. I think people are crazy when they say he is not a good passer... I find his passes are very well thrown.. If anything he is hurt by the WR's drops.. He had 3 passes dropped on him today in the game... Not to mention his running ability.. Matt Mauck is a winner and a very solid QB... I'm very happy and proud to have him pulling the trigger for my Tigers!!!!! See everyone in Atlanta after we kick those Arkansas Pigs assnext week.... Happy Thanksgiving... Thanxs to Coach Saban, the coaching staff and to every member of this outstanding football team for a super season..... Geaux Tigers !!!!!! Terrill (MR.LSU)
Read Mauck's own comments about his performance this upcoming week. He's man enough to admit when he sux and shoulders the blame ... as a QB and good leader should. He's more disgusted with his 3 INTs than you or I could ever be. As posted earlier, I wouldn't take 2 Mannings for a Mauck.
