Congratulations my SEC brothers. It must really be nice to sell out a stadium that size. But beware. The day may be coming where only big business and their associates will be able to attend. I have told you before that I have an elderly friend who played for LSU and has had season tickets since 1947. I don't know where his original tickets were located but the two he now has had for many years are real close to the 50. He has had a call from a past AD at LSU wanting to know if he would GIVE UP his season tickets. When he asked why he would want to do that, the reasoning was that LSU could sell those tickets for QUITE A SUBSTANCIAL DONATION. Such fan devotion. Be still my heart!! He just ordered his tickets for next year. Strange-----he had to DONATE 1600 bucks just for the privilege of ordering and THEN paying for his season tickets. The day is coming that a young man will not be able to afford to have season tickets that he, his wife, and maybe a couple of children will be able to enjoy. When I inquired about two/four season tickets even in the end zone, all I hear is DONATION. I'm not sure I can afford to be a tigar fan. I don't like going alone. Well---maybe BROKEN ARM FINANCE COMPANY will help us go to two or three.  :dis: :)  :D :(

The surcharge is 85/ticket in the end zones. Actually, I have heard from the local talk show hosts that other schools in the SEC have long since implemented such mandatory donations and we have just now caught up to the other schools on that. I cannot verify or speak to the validity of those statements, because Baby Otter was the one talking about that.

I went to some ticket exchange or whatever you call it. They showed POSSIBLE 40/50 yard line tickets for the LSU/OM game. $400 each---right!!! I would rather try to explain (to my wife) a $100 charge on the old credit card at a "cathouse" than $800 for any reason other than a gift for her. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

That is the big business of college football today. And ALL business today. Exxon/Mobile headman is getting a package of 26.8 MILLION dollars to run that company. That is the way it is now whether we like it or not.

Call me crazy, but I'll glad fork over 500 or 600 bucks to see a game in Tiger Stadium.

If you love the Tigers enough, you'll pay. I'm a poor college student and I decided that I would pay up to 750 for a sugar bowl ticket. I was lucky enough to win it in the student lottery and pay 150.

I'm going to have to disagree with you DD.

Obviously I love the Tigers a LOT. I'm a huge fan. But the reality is I have a family to support and there is only so much expendable income to go around. Many people have many higher priorities that come before LSU athletic entertainment.

Let me add that from what I can tell, LSU's donation prices seem to be reasonable when compared to the rest of the SEC. The bottom line is that there are many loyal LSU fans that will be left out because of financial conditions and there are many loyal LSU fans that will be moving into the "good" neighborhood now because they can afford to. It's really just a reshuffling of the deck with the most desired locations fetching a premium price.

Your friend better be calling that AD friend of his and anybody else at the Athletic Dept that will listen. If he paid $1600 for 2 near the 50 he got bent-over. I've got 5 on the 40 and paid $2,000.

Not to insult a company that employs a lot of people here in Baton Rouge, including many of my relatives, but judging by the way their information systems infrastructure is managed and handled, Lee Raymond ought to give that money back and invest it in some quality systems and procedures.
