    BATON ROUGE -- LSU junior second baseman Ryan Schimpf was named the Most Valuable Player of the Valley Baseball League championship series after leading the Luray Wranglers to the league title. The Wranglers completed a three-game series sweep over the Covington Lumberjacks Tuesday with a 4-0 victory at Bulldog Field in Luray, Va.
