This just in from the Nashville Tennessean: They do not mention it, but rumor is that David Cutcliffe will take over the rest of the season if his Doctors will allow it. Monday, 10/31/05 Sanders Expected to Step Down as UT Offensive Coordinator Tennessee Coach Phillip Fulmer is expected to announce later this afternoon that Randy Sanders will step down as the Vols' offensive coordinator, although Sanders will stay on staff for the remainder of the season as quarterbacks coach. Fulmer will take over the play-calling duties and offensive coordinator responsibilities for the rest of the seson. Fulmer and Sanders have had ongoing discussions about this change for the last two days. After Saturday's 16-15 loss to South Carolina, the Vols are ranked 108th nationally out of 117 Division I-A programs for scoring offense. The South Carolina loss marked the first time in the Phillip Fulmer era that the Vols have lost three straight games.
It is sickening to think about losing that game. Poor play calling was the reason we lost that game in the 2nd half. Just think we would be in the 3 spot and possbily passing up UT for the Rose Bowl due to schedules. Arrrrrgghhh!:angryfire
Vols via ESPN: OC Randy Sanders Resigns http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=2209339 Per Phat Phil: Too bad for Randy and Phil that they couldn't schedule LSU 11 times this year, eh? Casey Clausen and family would be making reservations for his Downtown Athletic Club appearance if that was the case.
