It is being reported by a poster on another forum that former LSU baseball player Johnnie Thibodeaux died in a car wreck this morning. A second poster stated that he just went by the house and the family will need all the support it can get.
I'm very sorry to hear this. He was a fine 5-year utility player that contributed to at least 2 NCs. My condolences to his family.
From WAFB Former LSU baseball player Johnnie Thibodeaux was killed in a car accident in Lake Charles early Friday morning. Thibodeaux was on the way home from a nightclub around 2:30 a.m. when his car collided with another vehicle. Thibodeaux was ejected from the vehicle. Thibodaux wore number 8. Thibodeaux went to Barbe high and was actually drafted by a Major League team straight out of high school in 1996. But Thibodeaux decided to play for Skip Bertman's LSU Tigers instead. Johnnie Thibodeaux was a member of LSU's last two national championship teams in 1997 and 2000. http://www.wafb.com/Global/story.asp?S=3488010
Wow, so sorry to hear that. I had a bunch of LSU baseball players in a Business English class and Johnnie was one of the ones in the class. He was a real character and fun guy.
:bncry: He was a great guy. He actually dated one of my friends when he was at LSU. I just broke the news to a few bat girl buds and we all agree that he will be missed.
It brings up some questions...was it his fault? fault of another person? was alcohol involved? This is truly a sad day. I hate to see any former tiger have an untimely death. Or anyone for that matter. This is really sad. He was part of two unbelievable LSU teams and he'll be missed. Heres one tiger with a broken heart...:bncry: :bball:
I understand it to have been a one-car accident. He was ejected from the vehicle and it took the authorities over an hour to find the body. Visitation is 3pm Sunday at Johnson Funeral Home in Lake Charles and the service will be held Monday at 11am. :bncry: :tigbas: :bncry:
