Saban didn't interview, he sent Jimbo because of some Bowl thing he had to do.

He didn't chicken out. He just couldn't be in two places at once. He and Marcus Spears had a post bowl game conference which entertained questions from the audience. WWL 870 AM just had a 15 minute clip of the conference on the air.

Basically, Nick said he was disappointed with the lack of execution and mental errors during the game. He said that he wished there was something more that he could have done or coached to make it different. He said he was totally devoted to the team this week and has about 47 messages on his cell phone that he hasn't even listened to.

Spears said that the week of preparation was the same as it has been all season. Coach was always the first one there at team meetings and the last one to leave. Preparations were just like any other game and that the bowl game was dedicated to the seniors.

We got beat by a prepared, focused, hard hitting, and very good Iowa team today.

And yet it still took a highly improbable pass play as the game ended for Iowa to pull it out. That said, I only have props for Iowa players and coaches.

No doubt. I have a new earned respect for Ferentz, his staff, and the Iowa players.

We had plenty of opportunities to take control of this game, but lack of offensive execution killed us.

The QB rollercoaster situation all year long (lack of consistency from one game to the next) still perplexes me:shock: All they have to go on is who practices the best.

The QB's could've been more consistent but they didn't lose us the game. We were outcoached, poor clock management (downing the ball on the goal line instead of running time off then calling time out) which is a result of poor coaching, and pathetic special teams (again. For the most part, Auburn game aside, we've been getting by with special teams gaffs. Today, we were exposed again and it costs us the game.

First, we had no time outs at the end of the game.

Second, I was wondering when someone was going to say we scored to soon. I figured it would have been one of the nimrods in the ABC booth.

Third, if we tackle the guy at the end of the game they would not have had time to try the field goal because time was out about the time he made the catch.

Hawkeye fan here, loved the talk on this board and the Hawkeye board before and after the game. Last year Florida fans were the worst and expected that this year since you are in the SEC. Didn't get that, LSU fans have got to go down as the most loyal fans with respect for the game. It has been fun and because of that LSU is by far the classiest team in the SEC and one that I will be rooting for in the future. With the young talent LSU has can't see nothing but great games in your future. Even without Saban I can't LSU missing a beat :thumb:

Thanks. I now have a higher level of respect for your team and coach. You guys have a hard-hitting defense that would be fun to watch as long as you're not doing it to my Tigers! :helmet:
