I'm hearing rumors that Saban might head to the NFL, and that Spurrier could be a potential replacement. With Spurrier's recent resignation, this seems more possible. What do LSU fans think of that? I always got the feeling that Saban wasn't too fond of the Gators, especially after last year... faking a field goal when we were already being blown out. If Saban feels this way, then it might reflect the Tiger nation as a whole. I know Spurrier is not a "Gator" anymore... but it's hard to forget the past. Finally, National Champion pick: Tigers win by 14+ points. I've been rooting for an LSU title all year, and I'm glad the Gators' biggest win of the year didn't keep that from happening. Geaux Tigers!
I was wondering what subject would finally get me to write in - well this is it! Spurrier as LSU anything would be just as ridiculous as it was when Ditka ransomed the Saints future with Ricky. Obviously, the Saints are still trying to recover. As for visor boy - the only good thing about him going to the 'Skins was that they kept losing! The Gators are my pet team to loathe in college football. Yes even more so then Bama or Ole Miss. Bottom line - Saban will be staying in BR and Spermier as we call him up here in NC, will be nowhere come next season. LSU 21, Okies - 10 GEAUX TIGERS!!
At the time, I didn't feel like the game was over when the fake FG was run. We were playing against Grossman in the Swamp with 10+ minutes left in the game up by less than 3 TDs. I was thinking at the time that a blocked FG would be a really bad momentum swing. Maybe Saban was too. I couldn't really see Spurrier at LSU. He would definitely have unbelievable young QBs and WRs to work with. It would be hard to picture him coaching for any other SEC team.
Hey Derek...Saban called off the dawgs twice two years ago inside the red zone....the game should have been 50-13 or close to that.
Welcome our Gator Friend. PS most of us really dug what the UF players said about LSU being in the Title game. Showed a lot of class from the Gators (Being serious, it was cool saying how they liked LSU and were glad they were there) Anyway, the thought of Spurrier here although sickens us, I am sure if Saban left he would be the one we wanted because of the Domination of the SEC he had... I know its easy for us to say NO NO !!!. But to be honest, if Saban ever left us. And Spurrier came here we might sing a different tune because he would be one of us. Sort of like that hated player on the opposing team gets traded to yours (Prime Time Sanders) for example. Past problems tend to get forgotten. Anyway good luck in the Bowl. I hope the Gators kick some ass. Geaux SEC !!!
No Way I knew some Gatorfool would come here and say this crap. #1- I really don't think Saban is going anywhere. I believe that he finally has the team he has always wanted to coach. He has recruited the cream of the crop for the last three years and is on the verge of creating a major shift in the power structure of the SEC and NCAA. I believe that he is very comfortable here and has bought into the LSU lifestyle of state pride and fan fanaticism. He will be rewarded handsomely at the end of this season. #2- WE DON'T WANT SPURRIER! YOU CAN HAVE HIM BACK! I hate Spurrier. I pulled for him to lose in the NFL. He tried to bring back Danny Awful (Wuerffel) to lead his team. Spurrier is a NUT. He doesn't deserve to inherit the talent on this LSU team. Please God! Don't let that evil befall my prescious Tigers. It would create an incurable ulcer in my stomach to see him wearing PnG. Old joke: Why does Spurrier always wear a visor? --To hide the circumcision scar!! "And that's all I have to say about that." Forrest Gump-
WOW! such bitterness. like I said yesterday, if Nick leaves, I want the best coach available. There is no doubt Spurrier would be the best coach available. everyone posting the "no" answer would change their tunes quickly after the Ws started to stack up. With that being said...Nick is not going anywhere.
Yeh why is everyone beating up on the Gator today. Good lord.. He just asked a simple question. UF as a team has been pretty classy to LSU. Read that article about the UF players and LSU.... Visor Boy is gone, let by gone's be by gone's.. Sure we hate SOS, Yes we know Saban is not leaving, it was just a hypothetical.... The guy came here and gave LSU props, and was simply asking what we thought of a hypothetical.... Lighten up guys...
Sorry mesquite, that's too bitter a pill to swallow. I believe what you say about taking the best coach available but I just can't bring myself to say "Spurrier" and "LSU head coach" in the same sentence. Its like taking in the neighbor who has been kicking your dog for years. I respect your opinion but I am not willing to make a deal with the Devil. Geaux Tigers!!
