Saban just had his weekly 5 minute chat on 610AM this morning. He talked about how the team didn't overcome mistakes against Florida and hurt themselves with penalties a number of times. When asked if he saw the penalty on Clayton's long catch after watching the tape, Saban diplomatically stated that he felt there were a number of questionable calls but Florida probably feels the same way. Also, he said there were 3 fumbles not called that all appeared to be fumbles after watching the replays but you have to overcome those types of things during the game.

He also mentioned that South Carolina has the best ground game that LSU has seen this year. When asked about Lou Holtz and his quotes, Saban had a favorite. Apparently, someone asked Holtz (don't know if it was this week) about how he and Saban coached at Kent State. Lou said something like, 'Yeah, but I was there so long before him it would be like comparing the current coach at West Point to Benedict Arnold.'

My favorite Lou Holtz quote was relative to the potential of one of his players. I don't remember if it was at South Carolina or Notre Dame. Maybe one of the Gamecocks can remember. This isn't word-for-word but you'll get the picture. In response to a question on the potential of one of his players:

"He'll be in an NFL stadium on Sunday's. It's just a matter of whether he'll be playing in it or cleaning it up"

Something to that effect. Good stuff.
