  That was hilarious! tiger63, SF wasn't getting personal, if and when he does you'll know. We have fun here- lighten up yourself a little or people won't respond to your posts and they'll slip away into the night. :thumb:
I suppose you have been at the same job since High School then. Or maybe in a different industry now. Because if you are working for anyone that can be considered competiton in any way with one of your past employees, then you just called yourself a bastard. Currently, I'm not looking for another job, but if someone has an offer, I'll listen. If they respect my ability enough to make me an offer, I at least owe them the respect to listen. I owe it to my wife and kids to leave open the option to better myself.
I don't often do this, but I have to kind of disagree with you, Nutria. Actually, I don't disagree with what you said from my perspective. But Nick doesn't share my perspective, and I can only assume he doesn't share yours, either. This man makes 7 figures a year, and wouldn't likely make much more if he left to coach any college team. Sometimes, you reach a point of diminishing returns. A person's reputation has to count for something, and I wouldn't sell myself for an extra FEW bucks. To leave Miami would hurt Nick's rep, but to go to Bama would DESTROY it. It already isn't a great rep from a character standpoint. Bama also ought to consider this same principle before firing their next coach. They have already destroyed a damaged reputation, their's. On another note, did any of you see the halftime interview with Don Shula? I thought he was pretty bold in his statements, but maintained professionalism. :geauxtige
I didn't neccessarily mean from a money standpoint. I mean the total situation. When I took the job I have now, I took a considerable paycut. The situation was much better, even though it was a risky move finacially. Luckily, I made the right decision. Now, let's say BAMA is offering him the AD job in the next few years, maybe even a spot on the BOT. That could possibly be a better situation than an NFL head coaching job, since NFL HCs rarely last more than a couple of years without getting fired. W
I don't think Bama could be trusted with any offer like that, and as stated above, Nick's no idiot. I honestly believe IF Nick was ever considering Bama, he's not now. He seems pretty upset about the whole situation now, and it almost seems like its because BAMA keeps leaking the rumors. Some have suggested Nick's agent is the one leaking them, but after seeing how he's responded lately, I don't think so. That being said, you're right about money not being the whole objective in job decisions. My wife and I both have left higher paying jobs to move on to BETTER jobs, and have been rewarded with something more precious than silver or gold...our sanity! But again, I don't see Bama as a place to keep your sanity.:thumb:
ESPN/Mort said tonight Bama had not contacted Saban or Sexton in three weeks. Prob. a slow media week in Miami and they wanted to stir something up.
