I support him in any direction he may take.” Bertman said the Miami job is one of the premier spots in the NFL and that Saban owed it to his family and future to hear what they had to say.
ok, speculation is over...he has talked with them. Good chacne he'll go, good chance he'll stay. Given past statements from the same outlets who broke the story days ago, he would not have even talked with Miami had they not been willing to give him everything he wanted. So the question is, is he satisifed with getting everything he wants at LSU, or everything he wants at Miami?
Saban shouldn't get ANOTHER new contract with LSU. If he sets a precedent that he needs a new, higher contract every year...just let him go. He'll leave anyway.
Just offer a raise and extension and a new building of some sort. If you want the top coach in cfb you have to pay him.
Why do you think this is about a new contract? Maybe, just maybe, he really does want to be an NFL head coach one day??
Miami is a family friendly environment. :dis: I guess he will end up moving to Boca Raton if he leaves.
I'm not saying it's about a contract. An earlier post mentioned whether he can get "what he wants" at LSU or in the NFL. It always seems that programs/teams renew contracts whenever coaches flirt with leaving for another job. I'm just saying there shouldn't be any reason for Bertman to do anything to Saban's contract. It's not even a year old.
when are you people going to realize that saban going to the NFL is not about money? it's about someone who wants to succeed at the highest level of his profession. that level is not LSU, it's the NFL.
