Too late, they were first. Right after Dildeaux asked Les the last question at Media Days. Then ESPN ran with it and it continued on College Football Live right after that.
we're going to be have our entire football program banned from the NCAA for at least 10-30 years, probably much longer. so you may as well make peace with it now. let's just hope and pray that we are allowed to keep our baseball and basketball programs :geauxtige
Actually, this is why I don't show up much for anything. :milesmic: That and the fact that I'm spread a little thin right now, and have to pick my spots/times/places to post.
The bad publicity part of this the thing could suck the most in the opening game. With the drip drip drip nature of these stories against the backdrop of the Lyles story connecting LSU and Oregon, the story line for the opening game has changed. It coulda shoulda woulda been about two great teams kicking off the season with the best non conference game of the year. And ‘video reports’ of each team’s success and why they are so great. Instead a lot of the media will begin to portray it as some version of the criminal bowl. It’s only a matter of how hard they sell the negative aspect of the situation, and they can make it as bad as they want it to be. Will it be a side comment about how “ . .both teams are involved in a issue still under investigation . . “ and then move on. Or will there be a ‘video report’ with every negative rumor blown up as fact. It could go either way. When this game was first scheduled I looked at it as a chance to once again show America LSU’s greatness on and off the field. I’m still looking forward to the on field part; I’m nervous about how our off field greatness will be portrayed.
Dudes.....we are a week or so away from a true national financial crisis and we have 51 posts speculating on Russell Shepard speculation. That is SEC football. Geaux Tigers hwr
There are much more pressing issues than the debt ceiling, like what our helmets are going to look like in the opening game!!!
I was wrong on when he moved from on campus to off campus housing. I thought he lived off campus last year too but the first time he moved off campus was this spring. This seems to be a case where LSU just wanted to make sure everything was on par given their current situation and not something that will have a long-term ramifications on Shep or LSU.
One of the compliance issues that had to be reported was that he is living with his girlfriend who is a student employee.
Doesn't matter anyhow who plays, is eligible or ineligible... Watching the SEC media days, they've already got the SECCG going to Bama vs. UGA... The rest of us are just playing for a sub-par bowl game.
