I am just curious to see what everyone is thinking. Is Russell the quarterback of the future or is Flynn?:lsug:

I know it is early. Who do you think will be a better QB. In my opinion Russell is going to be a star!!!!!

We haven't seen them yet, you're asking for a wild-ass guess. Can we have both?

Here's my wild-ass guess for the "quarterback of the future". Flynn redshirts, Russell plays sparingly but moves up to #2 by the bowl game. Russell starts in 2004 and 2005 then goes pro. Flynn backs up Russell in 2004 and 2005 and starts in 2006 and 2007.

Of course Mauck, Randall, and Ricard may have some alternative scenarios in store for us. We haven't seen Ricard either.

From what I hear Russell has pure raw talent and is very good but maybe not quite as polished as of yet. I think Flynn is better than advertised and a bit more polished. Both will get plenty of guidance under Jimbo Fisher which should be very exciting to LSU fans. I think you are right on Russell though, he has tremendous potential to be a star.

Who knows? I keep hearing Flynn is more polished right now like bolobolo said. What does that mean? Russell had all of those passing yards and was more of a dropback passer but Flynn played in more of a traditional high school offense. Shouldn't that make Russell a more polished QB? Or does it have to do with the fact that Flynn appears to be a better athlete (currently) and Russell hasn't completely developed his body yet? I'm assuming Flynn's foot is healed completely if he's practicing. If I remember correctly, he played his playoff games of his senior year with some kind of fracture. He sounds like a tough kid from everything I've heard.

Flynn. Seems to have the better head and an actually impressive arm and mobility

That's right. He played in the playoff with some sort of leg or foot brace which did limit his mobility but they were still successful.

No way to tell now. Wait and see how they progress after Jimbo Fisher had a chance to work with them for a while.
