I spoke with an orthopedic about Russell's injury in his wrist, and he said that the extent of the injury in worse than expected. He said there is a chance that Russell's career will come to an end due to this. I hope this is not the case, but he did narrow it down and say 20% of pitchers and quarterbacks with this type of injury in the wrist will never play again.
I think Russell needs our prayers that the surgery and rehab goes right.

An orthopedic, or one of the orhtopedics?

If he says the injury is worse than expected, I have to assume he's one of the Dr's working with JR.

This is obviously not good news. Hopefully, JR comes out healthy & ready to battle for the starting position in spring.

Not the orthopedic. It is an orthopedic who has spoken to the orthopedic.

Does anyone know if he is suppose to be 100% for spring...and now that I am thinking about it, when does spring practice start?

Interesting.... nice to know those Federal laws about keeping patient status and confidential info confidential are hard at work in the medical community surrounding LSU.

Russell did play for several weeks with the injured wrist. I suspect his is the 80 percent that is recoverable.

If not, he would make a fine tight end.

Meer speculation at this point and there's no way in hell JR could make a good TE(I guess you haven't noticed just how damn slow he is).

We can discuss information with family members...and since here at LSU, we're all family, it's ok! :thumb: Just kidding!

...but yeah, it's interesting how someone's medical status gets out in the open...
