You're obviously one of those fans who just don't 'get' it. He didn't play a perfect game, but nobody did. Even after all the mistakes, he had the poise and confidence to lead the team down the field, overcome a 3rd and 15 AND a 4th and 8, and cap of a 15 play 80 yard drive with 9 seconds left on the road against a top 10 conference rival. And, it's not the first time he's had to do it. (Ala. last year). I'll take that all day long. :dis:
LSU has the best total offense in the SEC. Russell has the best pass efficiency in th SEC. He's going to be the ALL-SEC quarterback in 2006. Yet people still criticise him for not being perfect! Amazing.
JR played like a few other well known QB's. Guys like Farve, Marino, Fouts, even Manning. His job isn't to make us comfortable, it is to help win ball games. He succeded last night.
And that might be one of the things that convinces him it's time for the NFL draft. He needs another year of college ball, but he has to hear all this criticism. Might as well get paid to be criticized...
