I hope the Tigers don’t get too far away from the necessities that brought the program to the top five. I have been running my mouth in Knoxville too much this week. I just believe in this group of players and in what they can accomplish. What I need is some Sabanesque dominance. The three I’s in winning come to mind. Immediacy, a sense of urgency about what you do, how you do it, and why it is important to do it that way: Intensity, an ability to sustain that sense of urgency over a period of time, in terms of practice, preparation, and games: Intelligence, which means you play smart in terms of your ability to execute. In my opinion there is a critical mass of players on this team that get it. That’s why I have put myself out there, because win or lose this bunch will not embarrass me. That is a great feeling.
