That works for me SabanFan, but let me ask you this. How can you be supportive of a President that has run up the highest budget deficits in the history of our country, so much so that even members of his own party are questioning his policies, gotten us involved in 2 wars that are virtually unwinnable, lost most, if not all favorable world opinion for our country, reduced or eliminated numerous social programs, has an absolute horrid record on environmental and labor issues, enacted immense tax cuts for his wealthy cronies and lied so much he's made Richard Nixon look like the most honest man who ever lived! And I was a Nixon supporter! When did GW ever work a day in his life? When did he ever go without food or medicine or medical care! The guy was born with a silver spoon in his mouth so big it's coming out his ass! Everything he's ever done has been because he's the son of Bush Sr. What the hell does he know about living from day to day or having latchkey children? Ask yourself how much you have benefited from any of those tax cuts. Maybe you're in a business that has but I, as a middle class disabled retiree, haven't seen a penny. And do you really buy into this crap that America is safer because we eliminated Saddam Hussein in Iraq and the Taliban in Afghanistan? Hell man, we're locked into this for years now and the damn terrorists can still strike here any time they want because of the way our society is. As soon as we leave these places there is nothing to keep the bad guys from taking over again. So we're stuck there, pouring billions of dollars into the effort, not counting the lives lost and the suffering of families. You know, I grew up a lifelong Republican. I stayed that until I joined the Teamsters Union and found out that I was all wrong about the things I had learned. I thought that Bob Dole would have been a disaster for this country but he couldn't have been much worse than this guy. Would Gore, or any other Dem. be better? I don't know but they sure couldn't be any worse! :geaux: :helmet: :lsug: :helmet: :geaux:
Whatever. I just look at it from the perspective of a tax paying working man. I don't expect anything from the Government, although I do have a few extra bucks in the ole paycheck thanks to Bush. I'm not a big fan of government looking out for everybody who can't, or more likely, won't get off their fat ass and take care of themselves. I respect Bush for his actions in protecting America and Americans from terrorists who would do us harm. As far as all that other crap, not my problem.
Colonelhapablap All one has to do to educate oneself is look for mainstream articles regarding the Bush administration's neglect of terrorism prior to 9/11. The following is only one of many. Bush neglect
I'm not going to get into a pissing contest about the causes of 9/11. It's what Bush did in response to 9/11 that's important. While the Dems were whining about "UN mandates" and "allied support", Bush was out there kicking ass and letting those bastards know not to f*ck with his country.
Re: Colonelhapablap Someone's homepage for their earthlink service is really mainstream news. Just put links to the real stories. You obviously did not read about Clinton's or his team's mistakes. Lets just take your X-Files view on the news, isn't there a difference between 9 months of neglect and 8 years of neglect.
Could Bush have prevented 911? We will never know because he made absolutely no attempt to try. He completely ignored all the warnings he got about Al Qaida until 911. And he got many dire warnings.
