Someone says they opened up a "Bear's Poboys" across from Mike Anderson's.

If that's true, it is so on.

    anyone confirm??

As in Bear's of Covington??? That would be way cool!!! I don't know if they can keep the quality at higher volume, or all those little shrimp falling out the french bread, but WOW, that would be great for a Fr. Quarter day.

When we leave Destin to drive to Mandeville to see inlaws on our way back to Houston, we drive to Bear's to get a poboy before going to visit. We pass up a lota food to get there!

Funny, when I go to Houston, I stop at DJ's Country Store at the Hankamer exit for the best pulled beef BBQ sandwich in Texas. I eat one and I take one with me for later . . .

Yeah its true. My friend worked at what was Sangria and when I talked to him he said they were in the process of switching over. I've never heard of the place but yeah he mentioned it was going to be po' boys and there was already a store in Covington.

Oh my..... Just read the menu. That place may slowly kill me. Sounds awesome!

    Bears Famous Gravy Fries
A generous portion of French fries topped with our Famous Roast Beef Debris & Gravy then topped with shredded cheddar & swiss cheese. Served with our homemade ranch dressing.

    Roast Beef
Our world famous Roast Beef Po-Boy thirty years in the making. We use fresh & slowly cooked thinly sliced roast beef that we soak in our delicious homemade gravy.
