This is a rookie coaching staff that really hasn't found its way yet. The jury is still out on them.

It is not realistic to expect a championship season this year. Whether Katrina is to blame or not, it is plain to me that the players need more time to "gel" in this coaching system. The stress of Katrina knocked some weight off of our players and affected conditioning.

The questions about J Russell will continue. Is he a smart QB? Will he become a smart QB and a team leader?

The questions about our Defense will continue. Are they in the best shape possible? If so, then why do they tire quickly? What about the defensive scheme? Questions will remain about the way that our D is run.

This is going to be a tough year. Expectations were very high, but I think that now, we can be more realistic and admit to ourselves that this is probably not LSU's year to win the SEC, and maybe not even the SEC West.

We should have realized by now that the timing of Saban leaving us left LSU with very few Head Coach replacement choices. I personally have always felt that Wayne High-Zinger purposefully timed his hiring of Saban late in order to hurt our chances of finding the best staff to replace Saban's.

The proof is in the pudding. I know that we have only played two games, but, it's very apparent to me that our team is NOT a well-oiled machine, but, rather, a "work in progress." That's to be expected with a new coaching staff, I suppose.

Both the players and the coaches must have been significantly affected by Katrina. I don't see how they COULD NOT have been affected adversely by the destruction.

I don't expect this loss to be our last loss this season. We've got to prepare ourselves for the possibility that we could get out-smarted, out-coached and out-conditioned a few more times this season.

I have lowered my expectations significantly for this season . . . and my expectations really were not all that high to begin with.

We have talent and potential . . . and not much else.

PS We are lucky that we are not 0 - 2.

PSS Always remember that we won it ALL just two short years ago. Nobody else in the SEC can say that. :)

I don't expect us to go to Atlanta for the SEC CG, I'm writing off the season
    when it comes to expectations.
I will be more interested to see what these coaches can do over a longer period
    of time.

I no longer know what to expect from this team and the coaches so I won't expect
    much.

I'm scared to see what they can do over a longer period of time. Rome wasn't built in a day but it looks like it may be destroyed that quickly.

That's the only way to keep your sanity at this point. Expect nothing from this coaching staff because that's probably what you will get. Even in the post game interview last night Les was putting it all on the players not executing, maybe if there was a game plan to execute they would have had a chance. Some coaches put their players in a position to win while some coaches just put their players on the field. This coaching staff did nothing to help the team win and in fact with their prevent offense and defense in the second half they hurt the teams chances of winning.

Exactly, Its funny how "good" these players were last year and how "bad"
    they are this year.
They can't do anything right, execution or anything.
Seems like 2 different teams to me, not even close, can't be the same team.
I wonder if the coaching staff feels any pressure or just look at it as one
    game.
