Today was the last game he'll be able to play with the bulls unless he resigns. Tommorow his 10 day contract runs out. He's averaging over 10 pts a game and around 20 minutes of pt. Chicago is overloaded at his position Kendall Gill, Eddie Robinson jr. , Marcus Fizer and Scottie Pippen but Pippen can really play 4 positions. If im the Bulls im trading Kendall Gill and Marcus Fizer. Theres no way there getting rid of Pippen and I would keep Dupree and Robinson two young and talented guys. Pippen has maybe 1 more season left after this Kendall Gill is over the hill as well and Fizer hasn't lived up to his expectations at all. What do you guys think will happen and what would you do if you were Chicago?
I would keep Ronald. If he doesn't resign with the Bulls, he'll have the chance most likely to sign with someone else. He's too good of a player not to play in the NBA.
On the local radio here in Houston, they said that any player on an NBA roster as of Jan 10th (last Saturday) would have a guaranteed contract for the remainder of the year. Does anyone know how that works? Is it that they can cut him but are obligated to pay him throught the rest of the year. The Rockets cut Alton Ford on Friday so that they wouldn't be obligated to pay him.
Dupree was on a day 10 contract thats completly different. Just like the Hornets signed Randy Livingston to a 10 day contract last year and the signed Robert Pack to a couple of 10 day contracts until signing him till the season was over.
NBA teams are allowed to sign up to 2 10-day contracts...once the 2nd one expires, I believe a decision must be made on whether to keep him or get rid of him
i think they drop him. he'll get another chance or two with other teams. i've seen several of the games and his D needs some work. granted he's often guarding the most athletic guy on the other team, but he's often out of position (maybe that has something to do with learning a new system and they'll cut him some slack) and is fouling a hell of a lot. his shooting has been ok and he doesnt turn it over. he's a bit undersized. we'll see what happens.
