I haven't found anything on it yet, but I just heard on the radio here in Knoxville that Rick Clausen is leaving LSU.
Found a Link The Knoxville News Sentinel has the scoop (and trust me, it's a very odd thing for that paper to scoop anything.) Here's the link. :geaux:
We're open to a lot of different things,'' Jim Clausen said. That means there is not a lot of interest in the young man at the division I schools. I hope he does well where ever he lands.
Understandable I guess, he had no chance of playing time at LSU with the stable of QB's LSU is building up. I wish him the best wherever he goes.
Yeah, I hope he does well. It would have been nice if things had worked out better for him. At least they aren't bitter about the way it did work out.
It's a good move for Clausen and smart timing. There will be other QB transfers in the next year and he's getting the first shot at the openings. The Advocate said he was looking for a Division IA school. I hope he considers IAA schools as well. He could walk in and start at some of those programs, ala Craig Nall, and increase his chances of getting a look from the NFL.
I hate to see Rick go. He seems like a good kid. I liked what I saw of him and he really had some zip on the ball in the short-medium passing game.
I think it the best thing for him,but he is not sec caliber qb,and I wish him the best of luck with his future.
