Georgia coach Mark Richt was heard bitching about the officiating of the LSU-Georgia game on a local Georgia radio station after the game.

RICHT QUESTIONS REF: Georgia coach Mark Richt said on his Sunday night call-in radio show that he thought an illegal block should have been called on LSU's final kickoff return.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Richt thought there was a block in the back at the 13-yard line during Devery Henderson's 48-yard return. The article identified Jeff Cook as LSU's blocker, but Cook is no longer with the team. More likely it was junior Greg Hercules, who wears Cook's old jersey No. 28.

"I'm not supposed to cry about things, but I think some of our guys were knocked out of their lanes maybe not the way they should have been," Richt said on the radio show. "But the referee didn't see it that way and that (block) sprang it."

Those rascally refs... Whatchya gonna do? :dis: ;)

His class act status will go down hill with the complaining. There were some no calls that could have helped on both sides of the ball.

    He is right though

I saw it, infact I said to the guy next to me they missed a block in the back. But to be perfectly honest Richt is lucky to be kicking off at that time the Score should have been 17 to 3 and we should have been kicking off.

    sour grapes

I agree, I was looking for a flag, but I did think it was border-line and in that situation if there is any doubt the home team should have the advantage. Besides, Georgia got away with their fair share of holding and pass interference. Richt is a jerk anyway, I think he is just waiting for Bobby Bowden to be put out to pasture so he can return to coach the Florida State Criminoles.

Yeah, you can tell by a lot of his comments he really doesn't respect the SEC. I think it might come sooner than expected. If FSU can make it to a BCS game or God-forbid win the national championship (I don't think they will) this season, old Bobby might go ahead and give it up if he can restore his image a bit after last year.

    marc,

Never say never with FSU, they have a cakewalk to the NC game, all they have to do is win one game, and that is against Miami. It used to be two games but Florida hasn't given FSU any competition in years.

I think FSU will beat Maimi and go undefeated FWIW.

Don't cry, I am simply expressing my opinion, which I have a right to do. I know you guys think he is god right now, but wait and see what you think about him when he packs his bags and heads south. (Remember Bama and Fran?) I am saying I think he is an ACC guy coaching in the SEC. When given the opportunity to return "home" I think he will.
