Trump on his false tax claim: People think I'm right
The United States is not the highest taxed nation in the world, but President Trump repeatedly has claimed the opposite in recent weeks. On Tuesday, Trump defended a false claim he made, saying that even if his claim isn't accurate, he and others still think it's true.
"Some people say it differently, and they'll say we're the highest developed nation taxed in the world. Because a lot of people know exactly what I'm talking about, and in many cases they think I'm right when I say the highest. As far as I'm concerned, I think we're really, essentially, the highest, but if you'd like to add the developed nations you can say that, too. But a lot of people agree that the way I'm saying it is exactly correct."
The U.S. isn't the highest taxed developed nation in the world, as CNBC noted: It's not even in the top 10.
Trump just makes shit up,.. doesn't care about the facts, doesn't tell it the way it is,.. he lies and tells it the way he wants it to be.
Highest corporate tax rate. That's probably what he's misremembering.
yeah, that must be it,.. he wouldn't make shit up
Tax rate has many categories.
We are up there on the corporate side.
Pick a different battle.
This "isn't" the one.
