So I’ on a project in Alexandria and we are going on a team dinner tonight. I am looking for suggestions for a nice local restaurant. No Chili’s or Ruth’s Chris type places please. Seafood would be my preference but we are open as long it’s good. Entrees in in the 15-25 dollar range.
Tunk's Cypress Inn on Kincaid Lake just west of town on HWY 28 has great seafood. The seafood platter has a frog leg, which I really like. It has a large dock-level oyster bar that serves food and several dining rooms upstairs at ground level. Good place to take a big group. Tunks Cypress Inn. Home Page
Janohns, it's in Boyce... My buddy owns this restaurant, great f'n food man, for real. Janohn's Restaurant - Boyce, LA - Restaurant in Boyce, Louisiana
Thanks guys. I got out voted and we ended up going to Bistro On The Bayou. It was very good btw. I'm going to be working here for a year so I have plenty of time to check both of those out.
I would have mentioned that one, but their entrees are higher priced than you were asking for. It's very high end for Alexandria, but the food is excellent. I've only been once, cause I'm a cheapskate.
Tunk's is the place! It has been awhile since I romped around the Alexandria Metro area, but Spirits' was a fine restaurant. Good to hear that Bitro on the Bayou was good, I have never been. The hotel near the bistro seems to be the best in the area, had to look it up... parcengland.com. Outside of Alex, Don's in Lecompte had a great lunch and dinner. Speaking of Lecompte, Lea's is the best place for PIE! The Jungle in Villeplatte was the best crawfish bisque I have ever had tasted in my life. I think I was told Rocky's in Bunkie was real good, too. If you do go to any of these, call first as I have not been to any of them in a year or more.
