I won't quit sweatin' bullets till LSU shows me their A game on their first posession....if the Tigers only get across the 50 twice like they did against Fla...it'll be a long night:dis:
I can't lie...I am nervous as hell. Not because we had a bye...but just nervous about the situation we are...But I just remind myself, this isn't Dinardo coaching, it is SABAN. Well will be fine. But I am nervous.
I'm also nervous, but I've been nervous every week of the season--with one exception. I was really calm and confident prior to the Florida game. Never again--and I feel like our players feel that way now, too.
I felt the same exact way before the Florida game StacyO. The weird thing is, I've never been fully confident, except in that one game. I'm always nervous until we take control of the game. Maybe we've been conditioned to be like that b/c of the line of letdowns we had in the 90's.
I've been quite confident every game this season. I thought we would win all of our games to this point. I thought we would handle Florida and win by 3 TDs. Oh well! I'm still going to be optimistic. We beat Bama by 24!
Yeah hopefully we'll bring our "A" game and continue on our 'revenge' tour. We knocked out Auburn, now we gotta exact revenge on the 'Tide, and then Arky... oh yeah, and beat Ole Piss along the way too!
I was feeling confident before the Florida game until my drive that morning from Lafayette to BR when I heard one of the NFL scouts gushing about how much talent Florida had on their roster. Everyone talks about how much a bye affects the team. I don't think one week off should be much to overcome. Now, a month off before the bowls is completely different. That should be part of the argument for a playoff but I rarely hear it. I get nervous before every game, except for the ULM's of the world. You never know how a team will come out of the tunnell or who will go down with an injury, like Mauck last year.
I wouldn't be so nervous if it was someone other than Bama. I'm old enough to remember what happened to LSU every time we were in a good position this time of the year back on the good ole days ... Bama would always rain on our parade. Maybe after we dominate Bama for 30 years or so, I won't be so worried about playing them!
I think the bad performance off the last bye was an abberation. I seriously don't think thats going to happen again. If Brodie gets going and the D line can get penetration and stop the run you could be in trouble. However if you can get an early lead and control the line of scrimmage it will not bode well for us. We have a couple guys feeling better than they have in a long time and this is the last home game for the seniors so I expect us to be ready for the game. I hate to say it but we could see another sec OT game in the making.
Controlling the LOS is the one thing we have done well in EVERY game, including the Florida loss. Thats one reason I feel so confident. We just havent had trouble on either line all year.
