LSU could not even pursue many of these. Biggest defections will be the usual ... Mr. Dunn's Evangel Boys and Luke Sanders. I would love to see LSU get Chris Bowers from Evangel, but this won't happen. Texas is dug in like a tick at Evangel High School. Let 'em have it! We'll take the Houston area and some more of Dave Campbell's 1st Teamers, LOL. Next, take those 14 Louisiana Blue Chips and add the current 3 out of state blue chips from Texas & Mississippi, stir well and add another 2 JUCO Top 150 (impact players) and one LA sleeper at Linebacker. That's 19/20 Blue Chips ... damn ... puts us in the TOP 5 right there. But it ain't over by a long shot. Another 70 players listed in the Hodge Top 150 & Super Prospect lists have LSU on their lists. And, with LSU moving for a National Championship, an avalanche of interest and late visits should occur. Expect a few more surprises really soon.
What is happening with Bowers and Sanders? Last I heard Sanders was a virtual lock to LSU and Bowers was 50/50. What's up with that? Where is your info. coming from?
Where did you hear that Sanders is a lean to Texas? I have been hearing all along that he was a near lock for LSU. LSU has a long and successful tradition of recruiting players from West Monroe (Bradie James, Jason LeDoux, Rodney Reed, Andrew Whitworth, Brian West) which I would like to continue. I would like to see Sanders in purple and gold. Based on our commitments so far, we have serious talent coming in at the defensive and offensive line positions as well as in the defensive backfield, but LB is a position of need where we only have one commitment at this time (Quinn Johnson).
Hey, if they aren't "chomping at the bit" to come to LSU, we don't want them. Glad to see you remember McConathy and there are quite a few others, one being Ronald McClendon. Ask Ole Pi$$ about him now, LOL. LSU DROPPED THAT TROUBLEMAKER LIKE A SCALDING HOT POTATO. NO MORE TROUBLEMAKERS FOR LSU, ONLY TEAM PLAYERS ... CHAMPIONS. A lot of the Northern LA boys won't come to LSU for fear of not playing. Look at Robert Peace now with TN. He was a lock at LSU too, remember. It is what it is and let these few go where ever they want. One bad apple can spoil the whole bunch. Most of the defections center around parental conflicts and problems where the parents play one against the other. Hey, most of these kids are very poor. All the attention and promises get to be quite a lot for some to handle. The "interview" techniques used now by LSU Recruiting wheedles out these egomaniacs and troublemakers. Some good players will be cast aside, but it's for the best. KUDOS to Nick Saban and the rest of the coaching staff. Keep up the stellar work.
Ramah, I am not sure where you got that about Luke Sanders, but most people say he is still a solid lock for LSU....
Texas already has 18 commitments according to OCSN. This is actually great, they won't have any scholarships left for the blue chippers when that time comes around.
