If we get that far, I would like for LSU to win a legitimate National championship, not a warmed over SEC West grudge match. To me playing Alabama (again) and beating them (again) would mean nothing. We've been there and done that... and for those (and I am one) that thinks LSU and Bama are the two best teams in the country, do we really know that? Tennessee was clearly the best team in the SEC, or so everybody thought, the year we beat them in Atlanta and Ohio State was the best team in the country in '07 when everybody was saying we shouldn't have been there but it was really Ohio State that shouldn't have been there, and so on and so on.

    This.

Let's get another crack at Bama and kick their asses definitively so that there will be no doubt.

How was the last ass-kicking that you delivered not "definitive?"

For everyone that feels it is somehow unfair that the sports writers have manipulated the BCS standings with a bias towards Alabama, here is what I suggest everyone does:

    1. Someone please find a link to an interview with Saban in 2003 when he allegedly said that a team that did not win their conference has no right to play in the championship game.

    2. Write an articulate paragraph basically outlining Roynav's logical points in the original post of this topic.

    3. Armed with both of those items, email every sportswriter that covers college football with both the link and your logical reasons as to why this is inherently unfair. Also "leave a comment" in every article you can find online that discusses any game that any team who has a shot at a BCS bowl game.

    Media blitzkrieg is your friend.

Apparently, it was too close and way too many football writers (as well as fans) remain unconvinced that LSU is actually better than Alabama.

Sounds like you want a guaranteed National Championship.

 I can't imagine a team I'd prefer beating. This one could be for the Bear.

Jeez, how many times does it have to be said? Everyone but Ohio State had 2 losses in 2007,everyone.

Not winning the conference is understandable; the precedent for that has already been established. It's the fact that they wouldn't even win their division that rankles so.

One amusing bit is that without a SECCG appearance Trent Richardson is unlikely to win the Heisman. He'd need a big spotlight game to showcase his stuff. It'll probably go to Luck now, no surprises there. Unless they decide to just give it to him anyway since he plays for Bama.
