Tell me this Alabama , what makes it right that bama plays in the big game over other one loss teams that did win their division especially since bama lost at home and their ONLY quality wins are aginst a two loss Penn state and a soon to be two loss Arkansas ? What makes bama worthy of playing for the title when other one loss title champs sit at home? Okie state, virginia tech and other one loss teams that win their division deserve to play over bama that didn't win their division.
Well Bama .. let's break it down. Granted, there is some "diatribe" in it .. but... - They lost at home. Yes at home. They were favored and still lost AT HOME on national tv. [Truth] - Then all of the saban blowers, bama lovers and media idiots that got their predictions smeared in their face went to work. " the best team lost", " miles got lucky", " it was our kicker's fault", " the refs made a bad call", " the ball hit the wire", " we would win in a rematch"," we're still the best team", " we have the best coach" [Truth .. and yes, Robert Smith is a Saban blower]. - Now these worms are in thechampionship game by default. No sec championship. Lost to the #1 team. It does not matter. The click was in. The fix is on. The littlebitches still get to play in the big game because all the media types that were wrong have to save face. [Truth ... at least it is true that the talking heads have pretty much noted that Bama is in a better position than LSU, in that they will be in the NC regardless .. LSU, maybe not]. - And the gumps wonder why the rest of the country hates them. They wonder why polls of the fans around the country pick for them to lose. They are the Texas and USC of the south. [Truth ... Bama does not deserve to be in the NC ... period]. - A team that lost at home and didn't win their divison will probably play for a championship while a one loss divison champion sits at home and watches the rematch of a game Bama already lost. [Truth .. again, the talking heads have pretty much said Bama will be in the NC regardless ... while a 1 loss conference champion will sit home]. I know you're a bama fan ... but dude, Bama being in consideration of the NC over a one loss conference champion is unjust as hell. .. you know it, but since the corruption benefits your team, you can't admit it.
yes, but bama would be playing one more game also in that case. and that is what irritates me. bama having an easier road to a ncg as a reward for losing. at home. that makes no sense.
We will be in the BCSCG if it is determined that we are the 2'nd best team in the nation. It has nothing to do with winning your division, or your conference. If Bama is the second best team then they deserve to go. If the shoe was on the other foot you would be saying EXACTLY the same thing.
Well, in a perfect world this would be true. But if I were a Bama fan I would be worried that even though the voters believe that Bama is the second best team, they are going to vote for OKST due to what they perceive as "fairness". If it makes you feel better, I think you are the second best team. And probably will be again next year.
This. The problem with the whole thing is that...as a reward for beating Alabama at home as an underdog, we 'get' to go play an extra game against another ranked team on the road, just to 'earn' our shot at the title. Bama's punishment for losing to LSU at home as the favorite is that they get to sit back, watch the LSU/UGA game, gather more material on LSU via film, heal up, and THEN go play for the title. No way in hell this is right. That said, yes...I believe they're the second best team in the country. I also believe many times the second best team in the NFL plays it's last game in the AFC or NFC championship game. Hmmm....
I'll bet you were one of the ones arguing the same thing when a 2-loss LSU team played for the BCS Championship, right? :hihi:
And I've heard people say there have been others that didn't win their conference, yet went on to the BCSNCG. True...OU for one in 2003. HOWEVER, they did not go to the BCSNCG to play a conference foe that had already BEATEN them. It's really pretty simple, but people continue to overlook the real reasons it isn't right. That said, I'm with roynav (1st time ever) on this...we'll beat em more convincingly in NOLA...and then they can say they're really the best team...but it was like a home game to us. In fact, they'll probably go ahead and print T-shirts, having convinced themselves that...despite the TWO losses to LSU, they're actually the best team.
