Hey guys I am new to the board but have been a life long tiger fan. Live in Texas for some years now.

Tough loss as that was a real shaft job. Lotta folks over here see it that way also.

Gotta say last week on one of the local radio shows they had a talk about the LSU game and most figured it would be a defensive battle. Sorry but I don't remember the coach they were talking to but he stated a couple of things which seem to have come to light.

First is he thought that a defensive battle and low score would actually hurt either team. Face it the SEC a tough place to get a win and the media and West/East coast like the high scoring teams with glamor not the SEC style of smash mouth football. Seems the low scoring defensive battle could hurt both Auburn and LSU but will hav to wait and see how it plays out.

Second and I know you all will jump my butt but I am just relaying the thoughts. I think Jamarcus is a good quarterback and will be an NFL player easily, but they discussed the fact that he still makes many bad decisions in pressure situations. Face it he did make some bad decisions in the critical times which could easily have won the game for LSU. I replayed the last drive as just one example and between some questionable play calls with Jamarcus bad decisions it cost us.

The last play of the game if you watch it a few times really had me shaking my head. The reciever was in route to go for a jump ball in the endzone from what it seems when he has to make an adjustment to get the ball Jamarcus has decided to throw way short. Would have been nice if he could have held his feet and gone in for TD but didn't happen.

Well anyway everyone can complain about the Calls and they did suck but the rest of the world doesn't really care. Was listening late last night and this morning and its all about USC. I wouldn't be shocked to see LSU fall from the Top 10 and Auburn drop. Its reality we play in the SEC and the media darlings just don't care.

Kirk Herbstreet said it best last night in not so straight out words but USC doesn't play anyone this season so they will be in the BCS bowl with Ohio State if they win out also. Just what ESPN and the rest of the media want.

Hope to make it back to Tiger stadium for a game this season. Lets just hope we pulverize the rest of our schedule and get a good bowl game at the end of the season. I just don't see us getting a crack at the BCS title with the schedules those other teams play. Plus us playing North Texas, SLU and Tulane are not gonna help our cause.

Is Russell a 100% perfect quarterback -- No.

Would I trade him for Leak or Cox -- No.

I think Russel is a coaches dream as he has size and arm. Not blazing speed but hey not everyone can be Michael Vick plus he isn't setting the NFL on fire.

Only dig on Russel seems to be his decision making at times but I think with more time and working with some NFL coaches he will turn out alright.

There was one play, either the last or second to last drive, that had me wondering how far his "understanding" really improved. We've been hearing how much smarter and better he is. He was scrambling, easily outside the tackles and still behind the the line of scrimmage and with an Aub defender bearing down on him. Now, he had to know that he wasn't going to get out of bounds (too far away, Aub guy coming in fast) and that he wasn't gonna be able to shake the guy for any positive yardage, so THROW THE DAMN BALL AWAY! He takes a sack (I'm pretty sure it was a no gainer or negative, either way TIME was of the utmost importance at this point in the game), killing tons of time in those crucial final minute maybe 2 minutes.

I got about 2 inches from my TV to yell to him to get rid of it but he didn't hear me.

JR will be an NFL QB. But the game last night proved he is not ready. If he leaves next year he will be in NFL Europe hell for the duration. He needs one more year of SEC play to make "the light come on". I love JR and have the utmost respect for him but at the NFL level,he will not be ready mentally by the end of the year. JR took a step backward in last night's game. Don't know why but he did.
