    VT at LSU is #1.

    1. Virginia Tech at LSU – What a way to open the college football season; two teams who will likely be pre-season top ten, battling in one of the game’s most hallowed venues. Speed, athleticism and aggressiveness will be on full display on the defensive side of the ball especially as these two teams led their respective leagues in total defense last season. What an atmosphere this will be.

This game is huge. Quite possibly set the tone for the season. Plus Hokie fans get a long time coming payback for mistreatment of LSU fans. Should be fun. :hihi:

This game a few years ago at VT was a Saban meltdown. I remember the fans were chanting "Over Rated" most of the game. We were totally not ready and out coached. Our only excuse was they had already played one game and we had not and we were on the road.

I'm really looking forward to this game. I hope CLM plays the tape of the game to remind players how badly our Tigers were treated at VT.

How many times have you heard people say LSU fans are a-holes, loud, drunk, rude, etc... and you know it was just some minor contingent of fans yet people make it out to be like it's 90% of our fanbase. So I'm not going to sit here and say VT fans were awful. I do know some personally who were treated like crap in Blacksburg, which makes me want to beat them bad this year, but I'm not going to paint all their fans with such a broad brush. We often get labeled by a few anecdotal stories of bad behavior and it drives me nuts, most reasonable people know the truth of the matter when it comes to sports fans of any kind, and I consider myself one of them.

EDIT: are you speaking of how our fans were treated or how our players were treated? I don't really remember that particular game all that well (at least I don't remember any incident of not other than it wasn't a very fun game for us). If something happened with our players and the fans, other than the usual taunting, I'd sure like to hear about it. Anyway, my response isn't really meant to be directed at you, just saying I don't agree with labeling fanbases. There certainly are differences in the way fans go about their gameday, but the being an a-hole vs. being a courteous human being is universal, every group has both and probably in roughly the same proportions.

VT a preseason top 10? I think they could be, but I doubt it.
