how would you rank the SEC at this point in the season??? here's mine 1. LSU 2. UGA 3. Ole Miss 4. Florida 5. Auburn 6. Tennesse 7. Arkansas 8. South Carolina 9. Alabama 10. Kentucky 11. MSU 12. Vandy
Rankings are pretty much close to right on. Just looking at that list and remembering the discussion about the best conference, do you realize that all the way down that list to South Carolina the SEC is looking at eight teams bowl eligible. Does the conference have that many bowl tie ins?
The SEC gets 8 with the BCS tie-in. Usually that would be the Sugar. The rest are Citrus, Peach, Music City, Houston, Independence, Outback, and Cotton. The Orange Bowl will most likely be the 8th this year. Also, there is an outside shot at the SEC getting two BCS bids and some of the smaller bowl at-large bids, giving us a possible 9 or more. BTW, I would agree with that assessment of the SEC.
SEC is Best conference in America, Pac-10 is overated in my opinion, you never see them play any of the better sec teams on the schedules, Except this year Auburn vs USC. Then again we don't know how good Auburn really is this year yet, they could finish 3rd or 4th in the west. The Big 12 is down this year also, look at Texas, Baylor , Texas A@M, even Colorado. So we should have 8 bids.
The rankings are accurate, as of this point in the season. It is still hard to imagine Ole Miss being in the upper half of the conference by the time the season is over.
